Brad Mehew
CMy name is Brad, I grew up in a small town called Richfield, Utah. Throughout highschool I played basketball, baseball and ran track. I enjoy playing most sports and being outdoors hiking, camping, and fourwheeling. My two favorite sports are baseball and basketball. My professional teams are the Anaheim Angels and The Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets.
I was in a musical group called One Voice during my high school years as well. It consisted of singing and dancing. The music learned was spiritual, as well as modern. It was extremely memorable and actually helped me with sports to learn how to breathe and use my lungs better.
I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas Houston South mission, speaking Spanish. It was very hot and extremely humid, and everything in Texas is bigger, but nonetheless I enjoyed all my time there and all the time I spent growing and changing to become who I am today.
The first seed that led me to my career was getting injured in high school. I was injured through weight training during baseball season, ironically enough. After I got home from my mission I was planning on being a nurse, which I studied my junior and senior year doing CNA work. As I continued through nursing I felt that there was something else that I needed/wanted to do. I felt compelled to go a different route. I went back to the drawing board and knew I wanted to help people and that I loved sports. Exercise science fell into my lap. One thing led to another and I finished at Dixie State University with my bachelors in Exercise Science and I went to Arkansas Tech University and got a Master's Degree in Strength and Conditioning. I am now a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). To finish my master's degree I got an internship working with the athletes at BYU through their Olympic sports program. It was fantastic learning from the college strength and conditioning coaches as well as the athletes.
The body is an amazing thing and when your mind and body connect, you can do wonderful things for yourself, as well as for other people. When you feel healthy overall, you generally are happier, have more confidence, and can help others do the same. The body is an extremely fascinating thing and I thoroughly enjoy learning about it trying to better my own body, as well as others’. It's very challenging when you go day to day feeling shoulder, back, hip pain, or whatever pain it may be; it makes life more challenging when it doesn’t need to be. Trying to finish a task with a family member or at work, just clouds your mind. It's always more challenging when your body doesn't cooperate how you want or need it to.
As a personal trainer, my mission is to help you uncover the confidence within yourself, empowering you to inspire others to feel the same. I'll meet you where you are, guide you every step of the way, and help you become stronger, more confident, and better than ever before. Together, we’ll achieve your goals and transform your life!
